The success of Director Steven Spielberg took over the directing in the Walt Disney production of BFG big friendly giant, the live-action adaptation of the novel BFG and the giant (the BFG) by Roald Dahl. Once again, he filmed a screenplay by Melissa Mathison, the ex-wife of Harrison Ford. The writer returned from a long creative pause for BFG and worked previously in the context of the cult film E.T. – extraterrestrial (1982) with Spielberg, to which she also contributed the screenplay. And also at twilight zone – eerie shadow lights (1983) was involved in them the script. She could no longer experience with the theatrical release of BFG, because she died on 4 November 2015 at of cancer at the age of 65 years.
The British actor Mark Rylance slipped into the role of the big friendly giant. A few months before the release of BFG Mark Rylance was an Oscar as best supporting actor award – but for a completely different kind of film: for the movie thriller bridge of spies – the negotiator, also Steven Spielberg directed. Actress Ruby Barnhill made her screen debut with BFG. Previously, she had been to see 4 o’ clock Club in the British children’s programme.
